Do you have an idea or ideas bursting at the seams of your mind to be let out and sprinkled between two book covers? What is stopping you? Are you one of those next week, next month, next year, I’ll. . .Well, STOP! No one is guaranteed a next. . .So open up a new word doc. (after you finish reading and commenting on my blog), and start that best seller. Even if you just write an outline or the first paragraph, congratulations! You’ve started.
7 Ways To Keep Up the Momentum
- Join a Critique Group - Fellow writers will offer extremely valuable advice and inspiration as you strive toward mutual goals.
2. Blog on Writers’ Blogs – Check out the different links and other nuggets of useful
information and offer up a constructive comment.
- READ – This is research. Pay attention to the way your favorite authors light up the page and get you hooked.
- Listen To Books On Tape – Hear the change in voices. This is a huge time saver. You can work on other projects or drive and read a book at the same time.
5. Make A Writing Schedule – Are you a vibrant morning person or do you come
alive at night? Plan a page a day, a chapter a week, whatever is realistic to keep
up with consistently but does make you stretch a little.
- Set Goals – Explore the endless possibilities of a full time writing career. If you could write from anywhere in the world, where would it be? For me it’s Colorado, on top of a snow-covered mountain inside my log mansion in front of a crackling fire.
- Hang Out In The Local Bookstores – Absorb the atmosphere. See your books on the shelves and people standing in line for book signings and paying money at the checkouts.
I recently heard an interview with Danielle Steel and she was asked, at this point in your life, you’re way beyond needing to write for income so why do you still continue to crank out spellbinding book after book? Her reply was, as writers we have stories in us that must be told. It’s not an option to keep them buried. She went on to say that she would probably write until she was 90 plus and collapsed over her typewriter.
To share stories everyday until the day I die. . .that’s the life for me!

I rarely meet such interesting ideas! Not long ago I found an interesting documentary by accident at one rapidshare search engine( http://www.rapidsharemix.com ) and watched it with interest. You never know where you find and where you lose...
