Enthrall - To captivate or charm. Hold spellbound.
What is the vision for your current writing project? Can you describe it in a way that enthralls each and every person you talk to? I'm taking an amazing workshop to help me launch a new children's book series. One of the most rewarding lessons so far has been discovering the best way to articulate my vision to others. We had to write it out and present it to 10 people. I received some great suggestions on changes to make but I realized that I deliver the details of my dream in a different way each time I discuss it, depending on who I'm talking to. This leads me to believe that it is the way and not the order of the words that instigates enthusiasm from other people. There's alot of excitement surrounding the books I'm creating so I figure I must be doing something right even with my casual delivery. You have to get behind your book from the beginning and give your passion the freedom to drive your mission in a way that's comfortable for you.
Another assignment was to create a written vision for everyone else's dream and goals that they're trying to accomplish. Being a writer, it's no surprise that their stories came to me in fictionalized form illustrated with individual characters. It was wonderful to get out of my own head and business and into helping others plan their futures. If you participate in any type of brainstorming session I'd recommend trying this exercise. It's also exciting to see what they come up with for you. When you gather a group of like-minds together synergy ignites and extraordinary things develop.
Whatever venture you're launching write out your vision on paper and memorize it or improvise, but make sure your performance enthralls your audience.
Do you have any tricks and tips for gaining excitement for your books?
